Sea World

Courtie had a Sim get canceled so we decided to take advantage of his day off. The trip was doomed from the start but we made the best of it. We decided the morning of to make the trip (I am not a spontaneous person). The park didn't open until 10:00 am so we wanted to leave by 9:15. Well for many reasons we didn't leave until 9:50. Court looked up direction and we didn't make if far before the highway was closed down due to a major accident. So we spent the next hour and a half sitting in traffic. I was convinced to turn around but Alena kept asking to see the dolphins and penguins. I told her that if she took a nap we would go... 1 hr in to waiting Alena decides to sleep and the traffic moves. We made it there in 20 min once we started moving (so Alena slept maybe 40 min). We get there and decided to pay more for closer parking (eh $5 extra when we are getting in free). We had to wait another 45 min or so to get out free tickets and finally make it in the park around 12:00. Oh did I mention it was 105 degrees out by this time! We were hot and hungry so we stopped by the dolphins and sharks for Alena and then headed to lunch.

After lunch we went to some shows. First one was Azul. WOW! It was amazing and Alena just clapped the entire time... beluga whales, exotic Pacific white-sided dolphins, colorful birds and acrobatic performers. We didn't get pictures because we were enjoying the show. Next we headed across the park for the One Ocean show with killer whales. After the last show I was not as wowed bout Court enjoyed this show. The whales were impressive; it was just short and not as colorful. We did manage to get some pics to share.

By this time we were all pretty hot and cranky. We went to visit the penguins (we told Alena we would). We all enjoyed the cool, dark penguin exhibit and then headed to the parking lot. On the way out we got Dip-in-Dots. We truly enjoyed the cool treat in the hot hot sun.

All in all a good day. Next big outing will be planned in advance and we will be out the door at a decent time.
